The Calgary Wranglers are much different team than they were a year ago.
They have an entirely different goaltending duo than last season, with Owen Say and Ivan Prosvetov replacing Waltteri Ignatjew and Devin Cooley. They have some new defenders. They have some new forwards. They have a new head coach. Heck, they have six players on their roster that were not playing full-time professional hockey a year ago. That’s a big adjustment for those individuals on and off the ice..
After a bit of a slow start, though, the Wranglers seem to have started to find their stride this week. They split a two-game set with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, and on Tuesday they went into Abbotsford and shut out the defending Calder Cup Champions.
Progress is almost never linear and we’re bound to see some bumps in the road, but there are reasons for optimism regarding the Flames’ top affiliate.
Here’s this week’s numerical check-in with the kids!
