Walker Duehr to make his NHL debut Sunday in Ottawa

Calgary Flames prospect @Walker Duehr will become the first player from South Dakota ever to play in the National Hockey League when he makes his debut in Calgary’s game against the Ottawa Senators on Sunday.
The Flames recalled Duehr from the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League on Nov. 4. The 23-year-old Sioux Falls, SD product has two goals and three points in five games with the Heat this season.
Duehr replaces @Tyler Pitlick (day-to-day, lower body injury) in the Flames’ lineup. He was initially recalled when the Flames placed @Brett Ritchie on injured reserve.
The Flames originally signed Duehr on Apr. 11, 2021 as an unrestricted free agent from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Duehr scored 17 points (10 goals, seven assists) in 28 games as a senior with Minnesota State in 2020–21.
Duehr picked up a lone assist in four 2021 preseason games with the Flames. He’s a right-shooting winger who stands 6’2″ and weighs 210 pounds.
