American Thanksgiving is on Thursday.
The Pacific Division is looking competitive, as every team is within five points of a playoff spot – including the Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks.
Let’s look at that in the latest What’s Going On In The Pacific Division.
Anaheim Ducks
Over the past week, the Anaheim Ducks played two games, losing 3-2 in overtime to the Buffalo Sabres and falling 3-2 to the Seattle Kraken on Monday. This season, they have an 8-9-3 record with 19 points and a .475 win percentage.
Lukáš Dostál has been sharing the net with John Gibson and both have had solid seasons so far. Dostál has a .922 save percentage and a 2.72 goals-against average in 14 games played. Gibson has a .915 save percentage and a 2.46 goals-against average in four games. Forward Troy Terry has six goals and 14 points, leading the latter and tied for the former alongside Leo Carlsson. Olen Zellweger is the only other Duck with double-digit points.
This coming week, the Ducks have three games. They play the Kraken away on Wednesday, before returning home and hosting the Los Angeles Kings on Friday and the Ottawa Senators on Sunday.
Calgary Flames
The Calgary Flames had a two-game winning streak coming into this past week and carried that over as they defeated the New York Rangers 3-2 and the Minnesota Wild 4-3 in a shootout. However, they fell 4-3 to the Ottawa Senators.
Scoring has been an issue for the Flames this season, as Rasmus Andersson leads the team with 13 points, as well as five goals. Jonathan Huberdeau’s seven goals led the team, while Nazem Kadri, MacKenzie Weegar, Connor Zary, Matt Coronato, and Mikael Backlund all have double-digit points. Netminder Dustin Wolf has a .921 save percentage and a 2.47 goals-against average in 12 games this season.

It’ll be a busy week for the Flames. On Wednesday, they face the Detroit Red Wings, before back-to-back games against the Columbus Blue Jackets and Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday and Saturday. They’ll wrap up their week with another game against the Blue Jackets on Tuesday at the Saddledome.
Edmonton Oilers
Like the Anaheim Ducks, the Edmonton Oilers only played two games this past week, falling 5-3 to the Minnesota Wild on Thursday and defeating the New York Rangers 6-2 on Saturday. The Flames’ little brother has an 11-9-2 record and sits outside a postseason spot.
As you can imagine, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have been the driving forces behind the team’s limited success. Draisaitl leads the team with 16 goals and 30 points, while McDavid has 11 goals and 28 points in 19 games. Evan Bouchard, Darnell Nurse, Mattias Ekholm, and Mattias Janmark are the only other players with double-digit points. It’s been a poor season for Stuart Skinner in net, as he has an .882 save percentage and a 3.23 goals-against average in 15 games played.

This week, the Oilers will have a back-to-back against the Utah Hockey Club and Colorado Avalanche on Friday and Saturday, before heading to Sin City for a game against the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday.
Los Angeles Kings
It was a weird week for the Los Angeles Kings. They were shutout 1-0 against the Sabres, before winning 2-1 against the Seattle Kraken. However, Monday’s 7-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks was one of the more surprising results so far this season.
Captain Anže Kopitar has six goals and 25 points, leading the team in the latter, while Adrian Kempe’s 10 goals lead the team in that regard (with 21 points). Moreover, Alex Laferriere has nine goals and 15 points, while Brandt Clarke, Kevin Fiala, Trevor Moore, Warren Foegele, Quinton Byfield, and Phillip Danault each have double-digit points. Former Flame David Rittich has played the majority of the games in net, posting an .883 save percentage and a 2.65 goals-against average.

This coming week, the Kings host the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday, head to Anaheim to face the Ducks on Friday, before returning home and hosting the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
San Jose Sharks
The San Jose Sharks aren’t a good team, but they are fun. This past week, they fell 3-2 in a shootout to the St. Louis Blues, before losing 4-2 to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. However, they defeated the Los Angeles Kings 7-2 on Monday.
Mikael Granlund looks like a player who doesn’t want to play in San Jose anymore, as has nine goals and 24 points in 23 games, leading the team in the latter and tied for the lead in the former. Tyler Toffoli and Fabian Zetterlund each have nine goals, while Wiliam Eklund, Jake Walman, Alexander Wennberg, and Macklin Celebrini each have double-digit points. Netminder Mackenzie Blackwood has a .909 save percentage and a 2.99 goals-against average in 14 games played.

The Sharks host the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday, before a home-and-home against the Seattle Kraken on Friday and Saturday. On Tuesday, they’ll begin the Eastern Conference portion of their road trip, facing the Washington Capitals.
Seattle Kraken
The Seattle Kraken only played two games this past week, falling 2-1 to the Los Angeles Kings and defeating the Anaheim Ducks 3-2.
Jared McCann leads the team in both goals (nine) and points (22), while Brandon Montour has seven goals and 15 points. Ryker Evans, Chandler Stephenson, Jaden Schwartz, Matty Beniers, Oliver Bjorkstrand, and Jordan Eberle have double-digit points. Joey Daccord has excelled as the starter, posting a .922 save percentage and a 2.28 goals-against average in 15 games played.
Brandon Montour - Seattle Kraken (7)
This coming week, the Kraken will play four games. They host the Ducks on Wednesday, before a home-and-home with the Sharks on Friday and Saturday. Starting Tuesday, they head on an Eastern Conference road trip, facing the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday.
Vancouver Canucks
The Vancouver Canucks won both their games played this past week, defeating the Ottawa Senators 4-3 on Saturday and the Boston Bruins 2-0.
Defenceman Quinn Hughes has four goals and 20 points, leading the team in the points department. The Canucks have a seven-way tie for the team lead in goals, with Pius Suter, Brock Boeser, Kiefer Sherwood, Jake DeBrusk, Elias Pettersson, J.T. Miller, and Conor Garland all scoring six goals. Netminder Kevin Lankinen is looking like a solid find in free agency, as he has a .909 save percentage and a 2.56 goals-against average in 15 games played this season.

The Canucks’ Eastern Conference road trip continues Wednesday, as they face the Pittsburgh Penguins. Over the next week, they’ll also play the Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, and Minnesota Wild.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Vegas Golden Knights were perfect since the last What’s Going On In The Pacific Division, defeating the Ottawa Senators 3-2, the Montréal Canadiens 6-2, and the Philadelphia Flyers 5-4 in a shootout.
So far this season, Jack Eichel has eight goals and 34 points, one point behind the league lead. Ivan Barbashev has 10 goals and 24 points, while Pavel Dorofeyev leads the team with 11 goals (and 14 points). Scoring has been a strong suit for the Knights this season, as 12 players have double-digit points. Goaltending, on the other hand, has struggled, as starter Adin Hill has an .887 save percentage and a 2.99 goals-against average in 14 games played.
Ivan Barbashev - Vegas Golden Knights (10)
This week, the Golden Knights head to Denver to face the Colorado Avalanche, before hosting the Winnipeg Jets and Utah Hockey Club in back-to-back games. They’ll wrap up their week with a home game against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday.
