Notes and expectations

The Wranglers have played a lot of hockey in October and they know it. Head Coach Trent Cull addressed it after their last game over the weekend saying,
“It’s been the first time in the American Hockey League I can remember in a long time where we’ve been this busy in October. Usually, we play like six games and well, we’re doing that in a week.”
They have been very fortunate with the lack of injuries so far and much of the team seemed ready to go and continues to put in a full night’s effort in this run of games. Jakob Pelletier, Rory Kerins and Walker Duehr are unstoppable at this point in the season. If the Flames need a forward anytime soon, they all make a great case for themselves.
Adding Martin Frk to the first line last game worked too. Dryden Hunt hasn’t been lighting it up with goals but was keeping up with his linemates. Pelletier and Kerins helped Frk net his first of the season. Regardless of the game situation, that line seems to always find a way to score. Pelletier and Kerins have only been held off the scoresheet twice this year and one was the game Walker Duehr scored a hat trick against Henderson, not a bad trade off.
The interesting part of this upcoming match-up is the netminder on the other end. Former Wranglers goaltender, Oscar Dansk, was not re-signed in the off-season and signed with the Anaheim Ducks organization. Dansk played the role of backup to Dustin Wolf the last two seasons and had some games that went better than others. Now, he seems to be trying to figure out his role with his new team. His stats sit at three games played with a win and a loss, a 4.08 GAA and a .875 save percentage. It is early, but those are some of the lowest averages of his AHL career.
Game one on Tuesday night has a regular 7:00 p.m. MT start time, but on Thursday, they pushed it up an hour for a 6:00 p.m. MT puck drop on Halloween night.
