Calgary Flames forward Yegor Sharangovich recorded the 200th point of his National Hockey League career with the opening goal of Thursday’s game against the Ottawa Senators.
Sharangovich, 27, got the Flames on the board with a power-play marker at the 5:51 mark of the first period on Thursday. The Belarusia forward collected the puck at the right circle in the Senators’ zone and rifled a heavy wrist shot past goaltender Linus Ullmark to make it a 1-0 game.
Joel Farabee and MacKenzie Weegar recorded the helpers on Sharangovich’s second goal of the 2025-26 season.
The Flames elected to play Sharangovich at centre for Thursday’s game, with head coach Ryan Huska opting to deploy him on the third line between Farabee and Matt Coronato.
Sharangovich recorded just one assist in six games to start the season before being called out for his subpar play by analyst Kevin Bieksa on a Hockey Night in Canada broadcast. He was subsequently healthy scratched for the games against the Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens on Oct. 20 and 22.
After returning to the lineup, Sharangovich recorded his first goal of the season on Oct. 26 in the Flames’ 5-1 win over the New York Rangers, which also snapped the team’s eight-game losing streak.
A fifth-round pick (No. 141 overall) of the New Jersey Devils in the 2018 NHL Draft, Sharangovich made his debut with the Devils in the 2020-21 season after developing both with the AHL’s Binghamton Devils and KHL’s Dinamo Minsk, his hometown club.
Sharangovich spent three seasons with the Devils to begin his NHL career before being traded to the Flames in the 2023 off-season, with the Flames receiving ‘Sharky’ and a 2023 third-round pick (used to select Aydar Suniev) in exchange for pending UFA winger Tyler Toffoli.
Through 370 career games over parts of six seasons with the Devils and Flames, Sharangovich has collected 103 goals, 97 assists, and exactly 200 points. The 6’2″ forward also appeared in three playoff contests with the Devils in the spring of 2023.
