Calgary Flames schedule released – check.
Stockton Heat scheduled released – check.
Synchronize schedules to see when Mrs. Finest and I can catch a game in Calgary without missing a Heat home game – check.
Mrs. Finest saying, “Maybe we can do a two-city, two-game roadie.” Wait… what??? More hockey? Really? Um… YEAH!!! Have I told you how much I love Mrs. Finest?
As we checked the schedules to see how we can get TWO games in, we found dates that worked in February. Flights are booked and hotels reserved.
We travel to Calgary for the Feb. 7 home game against the San Jose Sharks. We’ll explore Alberta’s best city on Thursday before heading to the Saddledome for the game that night in what I presume will be sub-zero (now, just plain Zero) weather. Then we head to Vancouver before the Flames’ road task against the Canucks on the 9th.
There is just one little thing that throws a wrench into these dates. See, Mrs. Finest is a Calgary Flames fan against all teams NOT NAMED San Jose Sharks. She still roots for “the team in the Bay Area” along with the Heat (of course).
Here is my dilemma: Mrs. Finest wants to bring two sweaters, a teal one for Thursday and a Calgary sweatshirt for the Vancouver game. I told her why take up more suitcase space packing two jerseys, when one Heat jersey will do for both games?
She wants to represent her colors, like I did wearing my Flames jersey to the Tank last year (nice, eh?). I respect the loyalty.
So I need your help, Flames Nation. I have made an arrangement with Mrs. Finest: she is “willing” to leave her Sharks jersey at home in favor of a Heat sweater based on responses from the fine, fine folks here at Flames Nation (keep it clean).
As we get closer to the dates, I will have another post with a few more details. We hope to meet as many of you as possible in both cities! Come share a drink with us, either before, during, or after the games in both cities.
