With development camp invite goalie Justin Fazio headed to Queen’s University, say hello to Portland’s Shane Farkas. Names that should be familiar from development camp include Christiansen, Merezhko, Rippon, Pachal and Ernst.
Adam Ollas Mattsson has reportedly signed another AHL deal rather than return to Sweden, and he’s been rewarded by getting his old jersey number back from Jaromir Jagr. Also in camp with an AHL deal is McMurtry, who impressed down the stretch on a very injury-depleted Stockton Heat club.
Conspicuous by their absence – players eligible under the CBA to come to camp this early but aren’t listed – are Rasmus Andersson and Morgan Klimchuk, among others.

Schedule

Players will report and go through medicals on Thursday. After a couple days of practice, there’s a prospects game against Edmonton at the Saddledome on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. – $5 tickets still available! – and then another prospects game against Edmonton in Red Deer on Wednesday night.
The rosters for main camp’s two groups – the bunch heading to China and those remaining behind – will be announced by the club next week.
