Flames re-sign Alan Quine to one year deal

The Calgary Flames have a lot of business to get to before the 2019-20 season begins, including signing eight restricted free agents and filling some roster holes. The club got to work on that to-do list on Saturday afternoon, announcing the re-signing of forward Alan Quine.
Quine, 26, joined the Flames last summer as a free agent after not getting a qualifying offer from the New York Islanders. He was a tweener for the Islanders and filled a similar role for the Flames, cycling between the NHL and the American Hockey League’s Stockton Heat. He had 52 points in 41 AHL games and 5 points in 13 NHL contests, primarily as a fourth line body.
Quine seems destined to be the Flames’ 13th or 14th forward in 2019-20 and that might be the ideal role for him at this point of his career. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent when this deal expires.
The #Flames sign 26 y/o C Quine to 1 yr $735K Cap Hit Deal. AHL Salary is $400K. 3G 5P in 13 NHL GP. Rep’d by JP Barry @CAAHockey puckpedia.com/player/alan-qu…
