The Michael Frolik era is over.
The Calgary Flames have traded the forward to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a fourth-round pick belonging to the San Jose Sharks.
Frolik, who joined the Flames in 2015 via free agency, was in the final year of a five-year deal paying him $4.3-million per season. In 319 games with the club, Frolik scored 145 points.
The move clears up cap space for the Flames, who retain no salary in the deal, allowing them some more flexibility in the trade market.
