In a bit of a surprising move given the two players involved, Edmonton Oilers forward Zack Kassian will face a Player Safety hearing related to roughing Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk in Saturday’s 4-3 Flames win over Edmonton.
Following a second period hit by Tkachuk, Kassian went after him with several unanswered punches before being restrained by the officials. He received a double-minor for roughing and a misconduct. The Flames scored the game-winning goal on the subsequent power play.
