It’s November now, friends, and by this point we would usually be complaining about how Geoff Ward is using the first line. (They should be used more in the offensive zone, dang it!) But since the NHL won’t begin until January-ish, let’s talk prospects!

In case you missed it:

Leagues that aren’t going yet:

  • The NCAA. The Big 10 conference is supposed to begin “as soon as Nov. 13” but hasn’t yet announced a schedule. Hockey East hasn’t yet announced a return date.
  • The ECHL. Several teams, including Kansas City, begin play on Dec. 11.
  • The WHL. The Dub is supposed to open on Jan. 8.
  • The OHL. The OHL is now officially targeting Feb. 4 for a start date.
  • The AHL. The league is now targeting Feb. 5 for a start date.

Kinnvall had a good week and kept up his impressive offensive production. He’s quite good, albeit dependent on power play time for his points.

Solovyov keeps plugging along, playing third pairing minutes on a KHL team at age 20. He’s a non-entity defensively, though.

Zagidulin is still trying to find his game. He played twice this week: he was chased midway through one start, came into game in relief in next appearance. Injured goaltender Juho Olkinuora was back this weekend, so Metallurg currently is rolling with three goalies.
