Many of the Calgary Flames prospects are in action this coming week. Here’s a quick rundown of the next seven days.
Fri., Jan. 22
- 9:00 a.m. MT – VHL (Russia): Buran Voronezh (Ilya Nikolayev) vs. HC Rostov [YouTube]
- 11:00 a.m. MT – HockeyAllsvenskan (Sweden): MODO Hockey (Filip Sveningsson) vs. IF Bjorkloven
- 2:00 p.m. MT – NCAA: Connecticut (Yan Kuznetsov) vs. Boston College [SportsLive]

- 5:00 p.m. MT – QMJHL: Val-d’Or (Jakob Pelletier) vs. Drummondville [QMJHL Live]
The game to watch here is probably Val-d’Or’s, as Pelletier returns to junior after capturing silver earlier this month at the World Juniors. The Foreurs also added Team Canada’s Jordan Spence and come out of the Q’s break as perhaps their most dangerous team. Based on the available information, Val-d’Or’s games are taking place in a bubble environment in Drummondville this weekend, and then they’ll move onto a different bubble for next week’s games.

If you’re so included, three afternoon games are vying for your attention: Pelletier’s second game back and a pair of interesting college tilts. Michigan State and Ohio State aren’t big national tournament contenders right now, but UConn could get closer to a spot with a couple wins over Boston College.
