Hanifin, 24, has appeared in the Flames’ first six contests of the 2021–22 season. He has two assists while averaging 22:07 of total ice-time per game, primarily skating beside @Rasmus Andersson at 5-on-5.
Stone, 31, will make his 2021–22 season debut in Thursday’s game. In 169 games over parts of five seasons with the Flames, Stone has scored 32 points (nine goals, 23 assists) while averaging 16:45 of total ice-time per contest.
@Nikita Zadorov has not appeared in a game for the Flames since Oct. 18 and will remain on the sideline in Pittsburgh as a healthy scratch. Calgary acquired the 26-year-old defenceman from the Chicago Blackhawks on July 28 in exchange for a 2022 third-round draft selection; they subsequently signed him on Aug. 20 to a one-year deal worth $3.75 million.
The Flames are 0-1-1 with Zadorov in the lineup this season. Without him, they have a perfect 4-0-0 record.
