Calgary Flames defenceman @Oliver Kylington has scored at least one point in each of his last six games.

He extended his point streak in the second period of his team’s game against the New York Rangers on Saturday with the primary assist on @Brad Richardson’s goal.

After taking a pass from @Trevor Lewis at the point, Kylington fired a shot toward Rangers goaltender @Igor Shesterkin that missed the net and caromed off the back boards.

Richardson picked up the puck directly off the bounce and quickly deposited it past Shesterkin for his first goal as a Flame. Here’s the video of the goal, as posted to Twitter by Hailey Salvian of The Athletic:

Kylington now ranks fifth on the Flames — and first among the team’s defencemen — with seven points (one goal, six assists) in 10 games. He has amassed all seven of those points during his current six-game streak, which is the longest of his career.

Prior to the 2021–22 season, Kylington’s longest NHL point streak was two games long (which he managed twice — once each in 2018–19 and 2019–20).

According to Evolving-Hockey’s “Goals Above Replacement” (GAR) model, Kylington currently ranks as the seventh-most valuable Flame with +2.7 GAR in 10 games. Adjusted for time on ice, Kylington’s +1.012 GAR per 60 minutes places fifth on the team (behind only @Johnny Gaudreau, @Elias Lindholm, @Andrew Mangiapane, and @Rasmus Andersson).

Kylington has averaged 16:10 of 5-on-5 ice time in his nine games since returning to the lineup. Only @Noah Hanifin (16:33), @Chris Tanev (16:25), and Andersson (16:20) rank ahead of him in that category.

After signing a one-year deal worth $750,000 with the Flames in August, Kylington will be a restricted free agent once again next summer and should command a hefty raise if he continues at his current level of play.
