Stockton Heat rookie @Jakob Pelletier scored an outstanding game-winning goal to help propel his team to a 3–2 overtime victory over the Colorado Eagles on Nov. 26
The 20-year-old winger tallied his seventh goal in only his 14th professional game at the 2:03 mark of the extra frame to improve his team’s record to 11–1–2. @Martin Pospisil and @Nick DeSimone picked up the helpers on the play.
After DeSimone and Pospisil broke the puck into the Colorado zone, Pelletier jumped off the bench and picked it up at the blue line. Pelletier circled the left side of the offensive zone before cutting past a flat-footed @Sampo Ranta and sliding the puck past Eagles goaltender @Justus Annunen.
Here’s the video of the goal, as posted to Twitter by the official Stockton Heat account:
Pelletier extended his personal point streak to seven games (5–4–9) with the goal. He now has points in 12 of his first 14 American Hockey League contests and leads the Heat with 17 total points.
@Byron Froese and @Glenn Gawdin also scored for Stockton, which received 30 saves from @Dustin Wolf in the victory. The Heat will return to action in Colorado on Saturday to complete their set with the Eagles at 3:05 p.m. MT.
