The Stockton Heat clinched a playoff spot over the weekend, and for his efforts in that accomplishment, one of the Calgary Flames’ top prospects has received an AHL honour. Jakob Pelletier has been named the AHL’s Player of the Week for the past week’s work.

Pelletier, 21, was the Flames’ first-round pick in 2019. He’s gone pro this season with the Heat and has emerged as one of that circuit’s top two-way players and scorers. At present, he sits ninth in the AHL in points and is second among all AHL rookies in points, too.
The Heat are back in action on Tuesday night when they face the San Jose Barracuda.
