Round two is officially underway, and we have a massive card for tonight’s games. Let’s get into it.
Today’s expected goaltender match-ups for our highlighted games:
The Carolina Hurricanes’ Frederik Andersen (4-2 record, 2.55 GAA, .899 S%) vs. The New York Rangers’ Igor Shesterkin (5-0 record, 2.00 GAA, .921 S%).
The Colorado Avalanche’s Alexandar Georgiev (4-1 record, 3.03 GAA, .893 S%) vs. The Dallas Stars’ Jake Oettinger (4-3 record, 1.95 GAA, .925 S%).

Jake Guentzel over 2.5 shots on goal (-135)

A $10.00 bet would return $17.40.
Jake Guentzel has only cleared once in this playoff, but it was against his current opponent, the New York Rangers, where he had five shots on goal and nine shot attempts. Despite not clearing this line against the New York Islanders, his attempts were still there, as he averaged 5.0 shot attempts.
Guentzel owns the Rangers; he has cleared this line in 14 of his last 18 head-to-head matchups, averaging 4.3 shots on 6.6 shot attempts. This season against the Rangers, he’s covered this line in two of three games, averaging 4.0 shots on 8.0 shot attempts.

Dallas Stars moneyline (-125)

A $10.00 bet would return $18.00.
I’ll keep it short and sweet. The Stars just came off a gruelling seven-game series against the Vegas Golden Knights. And with just two days of rest, they have to play a team that had over a week off.
Does this sound familiar?
Yes, because we just had the same scenario occurred last night: the Boston Bruins, who are still in game shape, beat out the Florida Panthers, who started off a little sluggish.

Nathan MacKinnon over 4.5 shots on goal (-118)

A $10.00 bet would return $19.00
Nathan MacKinnon has cleared in two of five games in the opening round against the Winnipeg Jets, averaging 4.8 shots on 7.6 shot attempts. Dating back to last year’s playoff run, he’s clearing this line at a 58% clip, averaging 5.3 shots on 9.4 shot attempts – no doubt he’s a playoff performer.
MacKinnon averaged 8.4 shot attempts per game in the regular season. His hit rates when he sees 8+ shot attempts jump from 48% to 70%, averaging 7.0 shots on 10.6 shot attempts in 17 of his last 18.
Another player who loves playing their opponent. Nathan MacKinnon has cleared against the Stars in eight of his last nine games, averaging 6.8 shots on 10.6 shot attempts. In the four games in the regular season, Colorado averaged 34.3 shots per game against Dallas.

Last Game Recap

Jeremy Swayman Over 28.5 Saves – WON – (+$7.50)
Sam Reinhart Over 3.5 Shots on Goal – WON – (+$11.50)
Boston Bruins First Period Moneyline – DRAW – (-)
We sweep the board (outside of a draw). Betting on a player’s shots while also taking the opposing goalies’ saves is a match made in heavy. Reinhart finished with six shots on goal, while Swayman crushed this line, finishing with 38 saves.
All-Time Record: 94-88-1 (+$4.65)
