This has undoubtedly been the best series to watch in this opening round of the playoffs. It has been one of just two series&#8217; to go the distance, and it&#8217;s not fair that the Stars&#8217; reward for winning the Western Conference was a date with the Golden Knights in round one. 
While they&#8217;ve allowed one more goal in this series than they&#8217;ve scored, all their underlying numbers point in their favour – and it&#8217;s not relatively close.
VGK &#8211; 16.33 expected goals for &#8211; 150 scoring chances &#8211; 53 high-danger scoring chances.
DAL &#8211; 22.36 expected goals for &#8211; 207 scoring chances &#8211; 93 high-danger scoring chances.
If this continues tonight, I believe justice will prevail, and the Dallas Stars will advance to round two.
<h1>Joe Pavelski point (-115)</h1>
A $10.00 bet would return $18.69.
Now, this one is mostly a hunch because Pavelski has gone through this whole series without registering a point. This stretch is odd for two reasons. Firstly, he&#8217;s only gone three games without a point once this season. Secondly, his exposure alone should have resulted in at least one point thus far. He&#8217;s on the top-line right wing alongside Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz and the top powerplay while averaging more time on ice in the playoffs (17:16) than he averaged in the regular season (16:49).
There may be the patented Pavelski tip for the game-winning goal at the net front to send his team to the second round.
<h1>Noah Hanifin over 1.5 shots on goal (-190)</h1>
A $16.00 bet would return $25.14.
Noah Hanifin has cleared in three of the last four games of this series, averaging 2.3 shots on 7.8 shot attempts. He&#8217;s yet to reach this line on the road in this series but he had five shot attempts in his last outing. When Hanifin has 5+ shot attempts, he&#8217;s cleared in 71% of his road games this season, averaging 2.8 shots.
Since joining the Golden Knights on March 7th, Hanifin has played nine road games, covering this line in seven games, averaging 2.1 shots on 4.7 shot attempts. Against the Stars, he&#8217;s cleared in 17 of his last 22 games, averaging 2.8 shots on 6.5 shot attempts. Dallas allows the second most shots on goal to defencemen this playoffs, averaging 9.2 per game.
