Both the Calgary Flames and Carolina Hurricanes are coming into this game playing their third game in four days – and both played evening games on Wednesday followed by matinee games on Friday. That suggests we could see some sloppy hockey, given the amount of playing and travel from both sides.

The Flames were shut out on Friday by Washington, generating a good amount of chances but failing to bury them. The Hurricanes have faced similar offensive challenges lately.

Just a bet for a moderately low-scoring game. Both clubs will be fatigued, and fatigue lends itself to poor offensive execution. And until the Flames start getting their offensive mojo going, it might make sense to hammer the under if you can find odds you like at a number you’re comfortable with.

Elias Lindholm began his NHL journey with the Hurricanes, and since his trade to Calgary, he always seems to be pumped up for his returns to Raleigh. He has two goals in three games in Raleigh as a Flame, so there may be some value there.

Two ‘Canes have owned Calgary in home games since 2018: Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov. Aho has already scored on the Flames this season, and has five goals in seven home games against Calgary since 2018-19. (Svechnikov, that slacker, only has four.) Leaning Aho has slightly better odds, but Svechnikov is +155 and also has some value.
