The Flames have been a team in control of their last 3 matches, Columbus is coming off a shutout to the Red Wings. Both the statistical models and my gut say Calgary is still the superior team. The Flames are coming off a game the night before but being it’s so early in the season i’m not sure that will have as large an affect as some may think. With Markstrom (more than likely) going back into the net I think the Flames will win a close match.

Primary Bet – Total Goals under 6.5 (+100)

A $1 bet pays out $2 – I don’t think Columbus has the weapons to really go goal crazy against a well structured team and the Flames are well structured so far. Adam Fantilli is a very good player, so is that Gaudreau character, but Calgary’s defence is strong on all three pairings. Goals should be limited.

Secondary Bet – Mikael Backlund over 3.5 shots on goal (+125)

A $1 bet pays out $2.25 – Two straight games the captain has been able to direct 5 shots on net in each. He’s rolling with great metrics and is always in position to capitalize on turnovers. He’s a new kind of motivated and has a winger with a motor that just won’t quit in young Coronato.

Tertiary Bet – Jonathan Huberdeau to get 1+ assists (+110)

A $1 bet pays out $2.10 – Huberdeau isn’t as bad as many online are screaming about. For as much money as he gets paid I can understand where that comes from, but it’s unrealistic and unfair as he’s performed quite well. Mangiapane has been quiet – I’m willing to bank on him getting one off a Huberdeau pass tonight.
