Betway Bets of the Day: Calgary Flames at Dallas Stars

Do many of you remember the game from this past Hockey night in Canada – yes the one from two days ago. This one will probably end up similar as the Stars play an extremely strong brand of defensive hockey. Calgary couldn’t beat Gustavsson then and I have a hard time believing they’ll solve Oettinger any easier. The Flames are running new lines too so maybe there’s a random dose of chemistry that can spark them, but Nick Ritchie isn’t projected to move the needle very far. Expect a close game.

A $1 bet pays out $3.50. If anybody on the Stars is going to score a goal against the Flames it’ll be the guy. The last couple of years it’s always seems to be him as the one that comes through in the clutch. He still plays a prominent role on this Stars team bound for the postseason and I have a gut feeling he’s going to burn the Flames.

A $1 bet pays out $1.85. Knowing the situation and what just happened to Calgary on Saturday they are going to have a directive of shooting from anywhere and everywhere. They employed that against the Stars in the playoffs last year and I don’t see it changing now. The Stars aren’t a Bedard bowl team so i expect them to contribute at least 25+ shots to this cause, but it’ll be a bet driven by the Flames side of things.

A $1 bet pays out $2.10. This is a bit of a risky one because offence in general is up right now. Logic here: Markstrom is coming off 3 really good games and should be in a groove – Oettinger is having a vezina finalist like season himself (Ullmark is going to win). The other factor is Calgary is bad at getting goals. 3 of the 4 factors that go in to determining offence are negative so i’m going with the under here.
