Betway Bets of the Day: Calgary Flames at Ottawa Senators

Ottawa is a team that has had Calgary’s number more than they should have the last few years. The Tkachuk hype no longer surrounds the match-up and maybe because of that things can go back to playing out the way they should. The Senators defence is about average while Calgary’s is elite – their attack is average while Calgary’s is below average. Sum up those and it looks like it would be a fairly even match-up with Calgary having the edge.

This means I’m betting on Calgary to win by 2, with a $1 bet paying out $1.50 – I debated doing the opposite and do Ottawa +1.5 (-182), but Calgary is coming off a great game and Ottawa is using a 3rd string goaltender. Sogaard is a pretty good prospect and you do have to wonder if it makes Ottawa play harder, but Calgary should be able to wear down their defence for enough goals to win

Dubé coming off a 4 point game – he’s gotta be feeling it. He’s been getting better as the year goes on and has found some nice chemistry in spot games with Lindholm and Toffoli. 2 shots by Dube and you can earn some cash.

I like to get wild every now and then – I think someone should get a power play goal, i mean if the refs are calling penalties anyway. If their whistles get put away this wouldn’t be good. Calgary’s playing extra physical lately and Ottawa won’t back down to that. Empty Netter? goes hand in hand with my prediction above the Flames win by 2 or more – try to compound some bets for a big win.
