Still not a lot of data out there to analyze new team changes – should take four-plus weeks before that starts becoming ever-more useful. For now it’s best to look at star power and consistency. Shots on goal props are a favourite of mine because it’s the most simplistic result from a game – no requirements to actually beat the goaltender. After the Flames first game the other team getting shots on goal could be very likely, even coming off playing the night before.
Primary bet – Jacob Markstrom to get 30+ saves (+125)
A $1 bet pays out $2.25 – After a stellar opening night performance we are choosing to ride the hot hand. It’s not like the Jets didn’t get quality looks on him last game – he was immaculate. Betting he keeps it up this fine Saturday.
Secondary Bet – Andrew Mangiapane over 2.5 shots on goal (+130)
A $1 bet pays out $2.30 – Mangiapane was elevated to the top line at the end of the first game and was the Flames best player not in the crease. His winger on the other side is the definition of a pure passer and Mangiapane has always crowded the crease with attempts. I’d bet this every day at these odds.
Tertiary Bet – Jonathan Huberdeau to get 1+ assists (+130)
A $1 bet pays out $2.30 – As long as Huberdeau has positive odds to get an assist it is a good play. Last year was the exception to his career – not the normal. He helped us out in the first picks of the year and i’m willing to bet he’ll help us again.
