Calgary’s already banked a win against the Seattle Kraken this year and have gotten better at team structure since that game. The Kraken are no joke and can go off at any moment but – like the Flames – lack someone with that top end game-changing ability. Matty Beniers could turn into that someday, but right now he’s just a really good top line centre. It’s not exactly going to be a goalie battle with Philipp Grubauer and Dan Vladar, both with negative goals above expected rates, patrolling their respective creases.
Primary Bet – Over 5.5 total goals (-165)
A $1 bet pays out $1.60 – I have very little faith in the goaltenders in this match. The teams themselves – as middling as they are – still pack more than enough punch to light up both goalies. Both starting have negative save impacts this season, bet on the goals.
Secondary Bet – Philipp Grubaur over 27.5 saves (-118)
A $1 bet pays out $1.85 – These are my favourite lines – the Flames get shots on net and not a lot of them are great looks. They’ve been better of late but there’s still a lot of shots from the outside that make a goalies night look a lot easier. I may not have faith in him to stop 35 shots but 28? I’ll bet on that.
Tertiary Bet – Dan Vladar over 24.5 saves (-125)
A $1 bet pays out $1.80 – May as well keep it going since I love them so much. 25 saves is all it takes and it should be possible so long as he doesn’t get pulled.
