The Flames are 6-3-4 in December and are coming off a really successful road trip through California where they captured seven of a possible eight points before the break. They’re trending in the right direction and despite playing some imperfect hockey, they’re finding ways to win.
Meanwhile, the Oilers are 5-5-2 in December and have lost four of their last five outings. The Oilers are, in contrast to the Flames, finding ways to lose lately. They have some really high-end offensive players, but their lineup lacks scoring balance and their blueline group is uneven.

Primary Bet – Calgary Flames to win Moneyline (-150)

The Oilers are riding a bit of a losing skid lately. The Flames have been playing fairly well. The Flames have home ice and have been finding ways to win lately, while the Oilers have been finding ways to lose. Take the favourite here.

Secondary Bet – Nazem Kadri anytime goalscorer (+155)

Kadri is a big-game player whose game seems to elevate when he plays in rivalry games. He was really good for the Flames in their pair of games against Edmonton in October, and his line with Milan Lucic and Jonathan Huberdeau have been strong offensively of late. He seems like good value at +155 here.

Tertiary Bet – under 4.5 total goals (+400)

Typically, the game right after Christmas is a slopfest and high-scoring. And this game is either going to be low-scoring or very high-scoring. The Flames are going to be trying to clog things up and keep things close, and the Flames’ playing style and having last change might make this a bit lower-scoring than folks anticipate. And at +400, this is a great value play in the event neither team has their offensive mojo going coming off three days off.
Remember bet safe and have fun!
