The opponents are very much still playing at a level that could win them more Cups, the only thing they’ve sacrificed over the years is their depth on defence. They have a lethal attack and a top 3 goaltender in the league who may very well end up as a top 5 goalie of all-time when his career ends. Calgary’s constant struggle to score and the coach going right back to Milan Lucic in the top 6 despite clearly being outmatched by speed the last few games is enough to make me swing this game towards a Tampa Bay win.

Primary Bet – Tampa Bay Moneyline (-115)

The Lightning are favoured, with a $1 bet paying out $0.87. This whole thing is Tampa-centric because I truly think a well put together Tampa team with minimal injuries should beat this Calgary team who is so out of sync both on the ice and according to Frank Seravalli in the locker room as well. Calgary’s trending down – 9 teams have over a 70% chance to make the playoffs, I’d bank the one with the most loser points is on the outskirts.

Secondary Bet – Tampa Bay 29+ shots on goal (-134)

Whenever they dip below 30 it’s a good bet to place. Teams average over 30 typically so i always pounce when i see lines like that where it’s not too negative.

Tertiary Bet – Race to 3 goals , Tampa Bay (+125)

Look Calgary struggles to score more than anything they do and Tampa has a Vasilevskiy. Barring massive defensive breakdowns it would be way easier for Tampa to get to three goals first.

BONUS: Jakob Pelletier Ice Time – O/U 10.00

This is just for fun – no actual lines from Betway or on the Betway app for this. Duehr got about 13 his first game and Phillips got about 9:21 minutes. IF Pelletier plays his first game does he actually get a shot? Or is he just going to be let to hard sheltered minimal minutes? Let us know in the comments!
