Flames fans wont like to hear it but the Toronto Maple Leafs are a very good hockey club and just got a whole lot better with trades this week. Calgary could hope to capitalize on early chemistry issues the Leafs may have, but the top end of their lineup has the offensive skill to go off any night. Calgary doesn’t have a McDavid to distract them so I’m skeptical here. Now Calgary is a better team in terms of suppressing chances, but the Leafs have an offence that’s most certainly got a higher potency than the Flames. Calgary did just play their best game of the year against the Bruins, they may well come out and overwhelm the Leafs.

Primary Bet – Toronto Maple Leafs Moneyline (+105)

A $1 bet pays out $2.05. Just look at the teams records and I like this for anybody. Odds-makers have Calgary with the advantage, which makes sense because the Leafs played Edmonton last night. The latter half of that game was the Oilers walking all over the Leafs with a massive lead so I’m of the opinion they’re more rested than people think.

Secondary Bet – William Nylander 1+ assist (+110)

A $1 bet pays out $2.10. The Calgary kid has been on fire this year, is a beast in the neutral zone in transition, and has lethal weapons to pass the puck to on his line. If they mix the lines up he’ll just have different lethal weapons. I think Nylander gets a boost when he plays in Calgary, there’s no science or fact behind  that it’s all gut feeling.

Tertiary Bet – Calgary Flames 35+ shots on goal  (-134)

A $1 bet pays out $1.75. Calgary hit their shot on goal target for betting purposes against the Bruins by the end of the second period. The players clearly understand how little runway is left and it has shown with an improvement in play. If they can get a save or two they may have a chance to actually win.
