Welcome to the Betway Bets of the Day! Every single game day we are going to provide you with some recommended bets while also showing the value behind placing said bets.

The Flames are 7-4-4 in December, and more importantly they’re riding a 4-1-1 run through a six game stretch against the Pacific Division. (Vancouver is their seventh, and final, consecutive Pacific opponent of this stretch.) They’re still playing a lot of tight games where margins are slim, but they’re finding ways to get that one difference-making goal or save that they weren’t getting in November.

The Canucks are 7-5-0 in December. Oddly, only two of their seven wins were in regulation, a reflection that they too are in a lot of tight games. They’re not a great defensive team, but at times they have the ability to out-score their mistakes.

The Flames are fairly heavy moneyline favourites. It’s not huge value relative to other possible bets, but if you think the Flames are going to win, here you go.

Toffoli is playing a team that he (briefly) played for, he’s on the Flames’ top forward and power play line, and he’s the team’s arguable offensive leader. If you don’t love this pick, Mikael Backlund seems to score constantly against Vancouver and he’s +250.

Spencer Martin is a pretty good goalie. Jacob Markstrom is a pretty good goalie. The Flames will be focused on playing a tight defensive game in the final piece of a run against divisional opponents. This game might not necessarily be low-scoring, but at +325 this is potentially huge value.
