Winnipeg is not a great team, but they are not a bad team either so the Flames don’t have to worry about losing to an AHL squad again. I’m almost to the point I hope they get destroyed. 78 games in and I feel they’ve wasted more of my time than entertained me this season – It’s about time Winnipeg put this terrible Flames season to bed, bring in Coronato and Pelletier out of isolation, and think about what everyone wants to try and scrape together next year. Of course if they beat the Jets their odds will still be upwards of 30% but with just three games to go… I guess we’ll see.

Primary bet

Tyler Toffoli over 2.5 shots on goal for -163. A $1 bet turns into $1.61. Toffoli is the primary shooter – get put in all the best positions to score too. Maybe that’s been the problem, Toffoli in his whole career has been the secondary scorer – if he’s your primary option how weak is your secondary? Huberdeau was never going to be the primary scoring threat… I guess they lost a bit out of Lindholm and Toffoli found it

Secondary bet

Andrew Mangiapane to score 1+ points for +105. A $1 bet pays out $2.05. He’s riding shotgun with Toffoli and Lindholm – they’re doing decent work but need a more established attack. Either that or all collectively to be 100% aware when on the rush. Something the Flames aren’t normally as even they assume their going into the corners for a slugfest.

Tertiary bet

Winnipeg Jets total goals over 3.5 for +120. A $1 bet pays out $2.20. I think the Jets will win on the back of everything that’s primarily gone wrong for Calgary this year – and that’s in the crease. This doesn’t completely fall on Markstrom’s shoulders, but his play this year warrants a short leash the following one. If he doesn’t rebound halfway through next year the Flames will officially have an albatross contract on their hands.
