The Columbus Blue Jackets are a team of hockey players doing absolutely everything wrong – in essence they’re playing for Bedard and doing it quite well. They are heavily underperforming in scoring their expected goals (negative 18), they are letting in more than they should (20 more to be exact) with an offence that looks like a black hole around the net and a defence that hands out gift baskets like its a children’s birthday party. Calgary should win this game in ever conceivable attempt and yet i can’t help but feel they’ll lose 3-2 in overtime.

Primary Bet – Over 5.5 goals in match (-182)

More than likely Calgary goes back to the goaltender that isn’t 8-0-3 in his last 11 games so that leaves them susceptible to more goals – no matter what Columbus does they seemingly let everything in. Calgary’s had stronger games as a team of late – it would be a damn travesty for them to lose this (let alone not get to 3/4 goals alone)

Secondary Bet – Calgary Flames 37+ shots on goal (-118)

This has a minus line because it’s highly likely to happen. I think last year Calgary put almost 60 some shots on Columbus – it made Johnny Gaudreau feels so bad for them he went to try and fix it (maybe, I have no intel). Well he’s going to keep losing a bunch of hockey games and Calgary is going to keep peppering goaltenders with shots.

Tertiary Bet – Jonathan Huberdeau to get 1+ assists (+100)

This is a positive line because it’s actually not likely to happen. As long as Lucic is on the other side it’s hard to bet on any offence from people on this line, but the Blue Jackets are bad enough even the slowest players should be impactful. I didn’t say useless – i said the slowest, big difference there. FWIW I think Huberdeau  gets an apple on the power play rather than 5v5, but either counts.
