Calgary Flames prospect update: Stockton continues their strong season

1 year agoAs the Calgary Flames continue their pursuit of a Pacific Division regular season crown, the same thing is happening down in the American Hockey League. Not only are the Stockton Heat battling the Ontario Reign for the top spot in their division, but whoever comes out on top there could clinch bragging rights as the top team in the entire AHL.
As you’ll see, Stockton’s sustained success is being driven by a lot of strong performances by the Flames organization’s best and brightest young faces.

Coronato hit the scoresheet against the powerhouse Minnesota State team in Harvard’s regional semi-final appearance, but they were ousted. Per Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, his representatives are expected to chat with the Flames about his future, but it sounds like he’s staying in school for his sophomore season.

He’s not the primary driver of his team’s offense, but he’s somebody who can play with play-drivers and bury the chances that they generate for him.

Philp has been on a bit of a heater over the last little bit and it continued this week. His goal-scoring prowess pushed him over the 20 goal mark for the second time in three seasons – last season really shouldn’t count due to how short it was, though.
