Flames forward Dillon Dube is cooperating with the 2018 World Junior investigations

1 year agoCalgary Flames forward Dillon Dube spoke with the local media on Saturday morning and addressed the investigations of the 2018 Canadian World Junior team for the first time in a brief response to a media query.
“Since the beginning I’ve cooperated in any way possible,” said Dube. “I will continue to do that. With it going on, I wish I could share more, but that’s kind of all I can share up to this point.”
Dube represented Canada at the 2017 and 2018 World Juniors, serving as captain for the 2018 team that won gold.
TSN’s Rick Westhead reported in May that Hockey Canada settled a lawsuit out of court with a woman who claimed to be sexually assaulted by eight Canadian Hockey League players, including members of the 2018 Canadian World Juniors team, following a Hockey Canada Foundation event in London, Ontario in June 2018. The allegations were filed in Ontario Superior Court in April 2022 and neither the eight players nor the victim have been identified in the statement of claim.
Investigations of the incident by the NHL, Hockey Canada and the London police are currently underway.
