Face-offs
Things started slow in this one, but the Flames began to pull away in the second period and again once they were down by one in the third. Both teams spent a lot of time on the edges of the scoring area when they did get the puck in the zone, while Dallas had the added struggle of a horrid transition game. They strike me as a club that could really use at least one defender who can do something with the puck on his stick. Their back-end seems to spend a lot of time swimming in their own end.
Flames tilted the ice at ES, but the Stars seemed to have a vastly superior power-play. That’s mostly been the case for the Flames all year and it’s one of the reasons they are a mediocre club.
