Flames Scoring Chances – Game 55 versus Chicago

 

 

A pretty solid night all around for the Flames. Like a lot of wins recently Calgary didn’t dominate or anything, but they didn’t give up much and suppressed a pretty good team at both ES and on the PP. Most of the Flames trios up front were strong, although the 4th unit isn’t as good with Jackman playing elsewhere. That said, Bouma and Backlund hooked up for a pretty nice opening marker. I’d like to again add that I hope Ivanans isn’t hurt too badly but also never plays another game as a Flame. The club finished marginally underwater in terms of possession, but that had almost everything to do with the Hawks chasing for thr final 10 minutes of the third.

The first line had an adequate night, although they mostly faced Bolland and Pisani. Jokinen had his best game in recent memory, playing against some big guns and not looking horribly out of his weight class. He hit a post on the PP and it was his play through the neutral zone that led to the Glencross GWG.

Flames are rolling right now. This is probably the peak we can expect from this roster, so let’s enjoy it.
