Already using the good (bad) puns on the first week. Buckle in, folks.

In case you missed it:

Lucas Feuk- LW, Södertälje SK, Superelit/Allsvenskan

Allsvenskan up to date51010106.23

Feuk has been a busy man since hockey started, shuffling up and down between the U20 Superelit league and the Allsvenskan. He’s played in all of Södertälje’s Allsvenskan games, which is a good sign even if he’s only on the fourth line. He might be there for the long haul, as Södertälje’s U20 team is a bit of a disaster (they’re 1-6, have been outscored 16 to 42, and have allowed double digit goals against twice) that he should probably stay away from.

Carl-Johan Lerby- D, Malmo Redhawks, SHL

CJ has picked up where he’s left off from last season, anchoring Malmo’s top unit. He currently sits seventh on team for scoring, and leads all Malmo defenders in points. He’s pretty good.

Linus Lindstrom- C/LW, Skelleftea AIK, SHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date620212116.29

It’s been a good start for Lindstrom thus far. He’s maintained a spot in Skelleftea’s top six, and has already potted two goals including one shorthanded one (just one shy of his SHL career high). Perhaps he’s finally turning a corner, but don’t get too enthusiastic just yet: his 2018-19 season started in similar fashion.

Ilya Nikolayev- C, Loko Yaroslavl, MHL

Up to date1053886620.34

Already three weeks deep into his own season, Nikolayev has emerged as a leader on Loko’s junior team. He’s been a minutes muncher on the top line, wears an A, and has generally been a very reliable two-way player for the club. I think a call-up to the VHL is still quite a bit away, but he’s certainly inching closer towards it.

Jakob Pelletier- LW, Moncton Wildcats, QMJHL

I can’t think of a better way to begin your season than by scoring four points (other than by scoring five or more points). Here’s some more Pelletier fun facts from the first week:
  • Has already been named a QMJHL player of the week
  • Moncton only had two 5v5 goals before Pelletier showed up. After his first game, they had six.
  • Moncton has scored eight goals since Pelletier joined the team. He’s been on the ice for seven of them.
  • On the other hand, they’ve allowed ten goals over the same time frame, though Pelletier has only been on the ice for two goals against. That’s a 77.78GF%, for those of you tracking at home.

Milos Roman- C, Vancouver Giants, WHL

Roman’s also had a strong start to his year, having already scored four goals through two weekends of WHL action. He’s seeing heavy 5v5 time thus far, in addition to chipping in on both sides of special teams.

Filip Sveningsson- LW, IK Oskarshamn, SHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date60000000

The SHL hasn’t been kind to Sveningsson in his first (real) taste of Sweden’s top league. He’s been held pointless in six games thus far, currently toiling in Oskarshamn’s bottom six.

Dmitri Zavgorodniy- C/LW, Rimouski Oceanic, QMJHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date415635334.93
Change from last week
The Oceanic have finally begun to unleash Zavgorodniy, placing him on the top line alongside 2020 first overall pick Alexis Lafreniere. It’s worked well so far, with the diminutive Russian picking up four points this past weekend.

Dustin Wolf- G, Everett Silvertips, WHL

GPTOISV%
Up to date3158:130.908
Change from last week
It’s very early in the season, but Wolf has put up some very anti-Wolf numbers thus far. He did pick up a shutout against Victoria, but put up a 0.870 (20 saves on 23 shots) and a 0.852 (23 saves on 27 shots) in his other two games. Wolf was pulled after the second period in the latter, the first time that’s happened in over a year.
