If you want something to root for in regards to the Calgary Flames, it might be Dustin Wolf. The precotious puck-stopper registered his 24th career WHL shutout this past week. The all-time record is 26. He’s got a realistic shot at the record, but the clock is ticking.
It’s time for our weekly check-in on the non-NHL kids.

In case you missed it:

  • Last week’s update
  • Done for the season are Jake Boltmann (NCAA), Daniil Chechelev (MHL), Lucas Feuk (HockeyEttan), Demetrios Koumontzis (NCAA), Mitchell Mattson (NCAA), Josh Nodler (NCAA), Filip Sveningsson (HockeyAllsvenskan), Johannes Kinnvall (SHL), Emil Heineman (SHL) and Ilya Nikolayev (MHL)
  • Glenn Gawdin and Connor Mackey were called up to Calgary’s taxi squad.

Walker Duehr- RW, Minnesota State University Mavericks, NCAA / Stockton Heat, AHL

Duehr made his pro debut last week and played four games for the Heat, who are missing many regulars right now. He did not hit the scoresheet at all.

Ryan Francis- C, Cape Breton Eagles/Saint John Sea Dogs, QMJHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date3216345032342236.39
Change from last weekn/a
Saint John is in the midst of their round robin, New Brunswick-only, playoff round. Saint John is 2-2, basically in the middle of the pack: Moncton is 1-2 and Acadie-Bathurst is 2-1. Saint John plays each team once more.
Francis has five points in four games thus far.

Glenn Gawdin- C, Stockton Heat, AHL / EHC Visp, Swiss League

Gawdin had a goal in his lone game this week, then was recalled to the Flames’ taxi squad (along with Byron Froese).

Rory Kerins- C, Stockton Heat, AHL / Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, OHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date40000000.00
Change from last weekn/a
The Heat have a depleted forward group, but you can tell they’re being careful not to throw young Kerins into the deep end. He didn’t play this week.

Justin Kirkland- LW, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date1625734117.44
Change from last weekn/a
Kirkland missed this week due to an injury.

Yan Kuznetsov- D, University of Connecticut Huskies, NCAA / Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
NCAA up to date1615663312.08
Change from last weekn/a
AHL up to date50000000.00
Change from last week4000000n/a
Kuznetsov is playing regular minutes in the AHL as a teenager – he turns 20 next March – and he’s been largely fine. He hasn’t turned heads, but he hasn’t shocked or appalled anyone either.

Carl-Johan Lerby- D, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date2207734212.68
Change from last week1000000-0.60
Lerby has become the seventh man on Stockton’s depth chart lately, sitting as a healthy scratch in three of the team’s four games this week.

Connor Mackey- D, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date2731316159923.62
Change from last week2011111-0.29
Arguably Stockton’s best defenseman, Mackey played twice and then was summoned to the Flames’ taxi squad (to take the spot of Oliver Kylington, who was added to the NHL roster)..

Ilya Nikolayev- C, Buran Voronezh, VHL / Loko Yaroslavl, MHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
VHL up to date377613512511.27
Change from last weekn/a
MHL up to date218101817171418.27
Change from last weekn/a
With Nikolayev acting as the fourth line centre, Loko lost to MHC Dynamo Moscow in the MHL championship final series in five games. In 11 playoff games, he had one goal and one assist.

Jakob Pelletier- LW, Val-d’Or Foreurs, QMJHL / Team Canada, WJC

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date2813304326292035.75
Change from last weekn/a
Val-d’Or swept Baie-Comeau 3-0 in their first round series – as would be expected given Val-d’Or is top seed and Baie Comeau is the lowest in Quebec. Pelletier had five points in the series and await the lowest remaining seed in the second round.

Emilio Pettersen- LW, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date2868141011819.93
Change from last week4112222n/a
With so many teammates disappearing to the NHL taxi squad (or the injured list) lately, Pettersen has been a model of consistence. He keeps getting half a point per game and is frequently noticeable on the ice, even if the Heat collectively aren’t burying a lot of chances.

Matthew Phillips- C/RW, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date298132113171128.86
Change from last week4112222-1.43
With Gawdin and Froese with the Flames’ taxi squad, Phillips remains perhaps the main “veteran” ofference presence for the Heat. He scored the shootout winner in their lone win of the week.

Luke Philp- C/RW, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date2988161012821.99
Change from last week4000000-3.52
Philp does not have a point in the month of April.

Jeremie Poirier- D, Saint John Sea Dogs, QMJHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date339283721291426.11
Change from last weekn/a
Poirier and Saint John are 2-2 so far in their wacky round robin playoff round. Poirier has five points so far.

Colton Poolman- D, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date2015656511.96
Change from last week4022222+2.00
Poolman had an offensive outburst this week, hitting the scoresheet twice.

Martin Pospisil- LW, Stockton Heat, AHL / HC Kosice, Tipsport Liga

Pospisil is done for the season due to shoulder surgery. (And a knee injury.)

Adam Ruzicka- C, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date2711102114171231.00

Ruzicka had two points in Stockton’s lone win of the week.

Eetu Tuulola- RW, Stockton Heat, AHL / Vasterviks IK, HockeyAllsvenskan / SaiPa, SM-Liiga

Alexander Yelesin- D, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date272466448.86
Change from last week4101111+0.56
Yelesin had a goal this week! It’s his second of the season, doubling his scoring outburst from last season. (He’s a shutdown defender, you see.)

Connor Zary- LW, Stockton Heat, AHL / Kamloops Blazers, WHL / Team Canada, WJC

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
AHL up to date934775531.00
Change from last weekn/a
WHL up to date14618241417942.45
Change from last week5358463-1.57
Zary was busy this week! He played a lot and was productive offensively as well. He had at least one point in every game.

Dmitry Zavgorodniy- RW, Stockton Heat, AHL / SKA St. Petersburg, KHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
AHL up to date281344335.69

Zavgorodniy continues to accumulate points, albeit slowly, with his third consecutive week getting some offense in. You have to hope he builds off this positive development to end the season after being incredibly unlucky offensively all year until now.

Tyler Parsons- G, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPTOISV%
Up to date1600.800
Change from last week160+0.800
Parsons played his first AHL game in two years on Apr. 22 (and his first hockey game of any kind in over a year) and gave up five goals in a Stockton loss. (Stockton rotated their goalies this week, with Parsons starting once, Garret Sparks twice, and third-stringer Andrew Shortridge once).

Dustin Wolf- G, Stockton Heat, AHL / Everett Silvertips, WHL / Team USA, WJC

GPTOISV%
AHL up to date31480.895

WHL up to date169350.945

Wolf played three times. He registered three wins and allowed zero, one and two goals against in the three games. His shutout was his fourth of the season and 24th of his career, putting him just two shutouts shy of the all-time WHL record. He remains among the league leaders in everything goaltending. Everett has seven games left on their schedule.
