The Calgary Flames are without one of their top players for their Tuesday night rematch with the New Jersey Devils. Per the club, Jonathan Huberdeau will miss the game due to an upper body injury.
Postmedia’s Wes Gilbertson, covering the road trip, tweeted out that Huberdeau was absent from warm-ups. Shortly thereafter, the club announced Huberdeau’s absence.
Huberdeau had one assist and played perhaps his best game as a Flame in Monday’s overtime loss to the New York Islanders. It’s unclear when during Monday’s game he suffered his injury. His absence leaves a big hole in the Flames’ top six, and compounds potential challenges for a club already missing three regular blueliners in Chris Tanev, Oliver Kylington and Michael Stone.
Update: Per reports from the arena, Huberdeau is in a walking boot.
