3 years agoThe Calgary Flames saw their winning streak snapped on Friday night, losing to the Montreal Canadiens 2-1 score. The loss nudged their playoff hopes a little bit closer to the proverbial cliff.
Here are some selected quotes from the post-game media addresses.
Darryl Sutter
The Flames played pretty well for the fourth game in a row. They out-shot the Habs 29-20, out-chanced them 21-16, had a 10-7 edge in high danger chances. But Sutter was much more focused on the result and fairly short on words.
You’re never happy when you lose.
Mikael Backlund
Backlund was asked if the Flames perhaps deserved a better result.
It’s a tough business. We all know that’s not how it works. The effort’s there. We played well enough to win, but we didn’t find a way to do it. It’s a tough one, for sure.
Elias Lindholm
Lindholm was asked if the Flames were the better team in the game.
Obviously we hit a couple posts or bars. I think we deserved at least one point. But it’s a tough league to win. We’ve just got to stay the course and go home and start winning again.
