The Calgary Flames will have a second representative at the 2019 NHL All-Star Game. By virtue of being the bench boss of his division’s top team at the halfway mark of the season, Flames head coach Bill Peters will coach the Pacific Division.
Peters is in his first year as the head coach of the Flames and things seem to be going pretty well. Through the first 92 days of the regular season – the first half – the Flames have a 25-13-4 record. Their .643 points percentage puts them ahead of the San Jose Sharks (.607), Vegas Golden Knights (.605) and Anaheim Ducks (.549) atop the Pacific Division.
This will be Peters’ first trip to the All-Star Game, where he’ll coach Johnny Gaudreau and potentially Mark Giordano – if the Flames captain wins the NHL’s Last Man In polling.
The 2019 NHL All-Star Game goes Jan. 26 in San Jose, California.
