After one of their most complete games of the season, the Calgary Flames (31-25-11, 73 points) continue their swing through the New York metropolitan area on Thursday night when they face the New Jersey Devils (37-26-6, 80 points). The Devils are missing a few key players, but they remain a pretty dangerous team. Can the Flames keep their strong play going?
Today’s broadcast begins at 5 p.m. MT on Sportsnet One and Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

We’re projecting Dustin Wolf to start in net, backed up by Dan Vladar. The expected extras are Brayden Pachal and Dryden Hunt. We’re not expecting any changes from Tuesday’s win against the New York Rangers.
Are the Flames an offensive powerhouse? Nope. Are they a team that’s fully capable of scoring the goals they need to win if they play some really stifling defence? Yep. They need to play a particular way to win, and they’ve done that quite a bit this season. Yeah, they’ve gotten great goaltending – Wolf and Vladar have both impressed, especially lately – but when the Flames play smart, structured hockey and avoid penalty trouble, they’re hard to beat.
Keep an eye on Matt Coronato; he was flat-out excellent against the Rangers.

We’re expecting Jacob Markstrom to start in net, backed up by Jake Allen. The projected extras are Kurtis MacDermid, Daniel Sprong, Justin Dowling and Dennis Cholowski. We may some changes for the Devils, though.
#NJDevils HC Keefe says today's missing players are dealing with some bumps and bruises.
Added, he's also thinking of making line changes vs CGY.
"We’ll see exactly what we’ll have tomorrow and solidify our lineup based on that and based on any changes I night want to make.” https://t.co/qi7gw6AXaR

The Devils have lost some key players to injury lately. They’re a depleted bunch. However, they’ve managed to keep doing their thing. They’ve won four of the past five games, and while they haven’t run away with any of the games, they’ve played their game and managed to execute at key times. They shouldn’t be under-estimated, especially at this time of year.
Unavailable players
The Flames are without Anthony Mantha, Justin Kirkland and Mikael Backlund.
The Devils are without Jonas Siegenthaler, Jack Hughes and Dougie Hamilton.
