Hearing CAL & 2021 first-rounder Matt Coronato are grinding away at a deal. Nothing official yet, but would be a big one for Flames.

Per his agent, Puck Agency’s John Kofi Osei-Tutu, Coronato’s deal begins in 2022-23. The deal carries a $925,000 cap hit for all three seasons, with the maximum of $850,000 of type A bonuses in the second and third seasons.
He’ll be a restricted free agent without arbitration or offer sheet rights following the 2024-25 season. He’ll report to the Flames on Monday.
A Long Island product, Coronato was the 13th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft after a superb stint with the USHL’s Chicago Steel. He played two seasons at Harvard, scoring 36 points each season and emerging as one of the top offensive players in his conference.
