On the heels of their 7–1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks two days ago, the Calgary Flames look to be going with a veteran-laden forward lineup for Saturday’s game against the Minnesota Wild.
At Saturday’s skate, Flames head coach Darryl Sutter slotted @Brad Richardson and @Brett Ritchie with @Milan Lucic on the team’s fourth line. @Dillon Dube and @Adam Ruzicka skated as extras.
Richardson, 37, has not appeared in a game with the Flames since Jan. 22. The left-handed forward has two goals and four points in 24 games this season.
Ritchie, 28, was removed from the Flames’ lineup in favour of @Tyler Toffoli on Feb. 15 and has not played since. He does not have a point in 24 games with the Flames this season.
Dube and Ruzicka were the Flames’ two least-used players in their 7–1 loss to Vancouver on Thursday, combining for less than 20 minutes of time on ice between them.
Ruzicka, 22, has appeared in 14 consecutive games for the Flames; Dube, 23, has played in all 50 of the Flames’ games this season.
The Flames enter Saturday’s clash against the Wild (8:00 p.m. MT, CBC/Sportsnet/CityTV) as the top-ranked team in the Pacific Division with a 30–14–6 record, including a 9–1–0 run in February. Minnesota (31–15–3) currently sits third in the Central Division behind the Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues.
