It’s camp season!
The Calgary Flames announced their rookie camp roster and schedule on Monday morning. It’s the first on-ice action of the 2021-22 season!
The roster
Players not on the Flames’ reserve list are noted:
- Goaltenders Dustin Wolf, Connor Ungar (try-out) and Carter Serhyenko (try-out)
- Defensemen Cole Jordan, Johannes Kinnvall, Yan Kuznetsov, Greg Moro (AHL contract), Jeremie Poirier, Colton Poolman, Ilya Solovyov, Koletrane Wilson (AHL contract) and Cameron Whynot
- Forwards Jack Beck, Lucas Ciona, Walker Duehr, Ryan Francis, Cole Huckins, Ben King (try-out), Rory Kerins, Ilya Nikolayev, Jakob Pelletier, Reid Perepeluk (AHL contract), Emilio Pettersen, Martin Pospisil, Mark Simpson (AHL contract), Connor Zary and Dmitry Zavgorodniy
Not attending camp, though technically eligible to do so, are goalie Daniil Chechelev and forwards Eetu Tuulola and Adam Ruzicka. (Poolman is the only signed player outside of the entry-level system to be attending.)
The schedule
The rookies report for medicals on Wednesday, with on-ice sessions beginning on Thursday.
The Flames play two rookie games against the Edmonton Oilers’ youngsters:
- Saturday at 5 p.m. MT in Edmonton
- Monday at 6 p.m. MT in Calgary
Both games are closed to fans, but available to stream on the Flames’ site.
