The draft continued for the Flames this afternoon, and they selected Matthias Emilio Pettersen a 5’10, 170 pound Centre from Norway. Last season, Pettersen had 14 goals and 46 points in 60 games for Muskegon in the USHL last season. Pettersen is committed to the University of Denver for next season, meaning that the Flames will have three NCAA players next season from this draft.
Here are some basic pieces of information on Pettersen from Elite Prospects:

Pettersen has been covered by newspapers in his home country from a very young age, leaving home to play at the South Kent School of the USPHL. At the international level, Pettersen represented Norway at the 2017 U18’s where he scored 12 points in five games, leading the tournament in scoring.
As you can see from the scouting rankings, the Flames may have got some decent value at this place in the draft, though, in these rounds the draft is … uneven we’ll say.
