The 2020 NHL Draft has come and gone, and the Calgary Flames made some trades, made some picks, and believe they’ve filled some holes in their reserve list.
Here’s your one-stop shop for what went down over the past two days.
The trades
The Flames traded down twice during the first round:
- They sent their 19th overall pick to the NY Rangers in exchange for 22nd overall and 72nd overall.
- They sent the 22nd overall pick to Washington in exchange for 24th overall and 80th overall (originally Arizona’s).
The Edmonton Oilers opted to send the Flames their 2021 third round pick to complete the Milan Lucic/James Neal trade. As a result, the Flames sent 81st overall to Chicago to complete the Erik Gustafsson trade.
