Flames nominated in two NHL Fan Choice Award categories

For the second consecutive season, the National Hockey League is allowing its fans to have their say in their NHL Fan Choice Awards. The more gleeful, social media focused cousin to the major NHL Awards, the Fan Choice Awards are determined by the fans.
The Calgary Flames are nominated in two categories.
GIF of the Year
For GIF of the Year, Johnny Gaudreau sharing his patented purple Gatorade with linemates Elias Lindholm and Sean Monahan is up against GIFs featuring Columbus’ Artemi Panarin, Ottawa’s Brady Tkachuk and New Jersey’s Mackenzie Blackwood.
Goal of the Year
Just a filthy goal by Backlund.
Mikael Backlund’s insane stick-handling performance from early February is nominated for Goal of the Year. He’s up against goals by Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby, Edmonton’s Connor McDavid and Florida’s Aleksander Barkov.
To vote for all 20 categories, head to NHL.com/FanChoiceAwards before June 15.
