The Flames have been blazing through their offseason laundry list. Yesterday, they re-signed Micheal Ferland to a two-year, $3.5M contract, avoiding arbitration. Today, they have re-signed Curtis Lazar to a two-year deal with an annual average value of $950,000.

Lazar, who was an RFA, came to the Flames at trade deadline in a deal that saw a second round pick and Jyrki Jokipakka go to Ottawa. He only played in four regular season games for the Flames, but picked up three points along the way.

Lazar rejected his qualifying offer, which would’ve been $874K on a two way deal. He receives a minor bump in terms of salary by about $118K more per year.

After this deal, the Flames have just over $7.16M in room for Sam Bennett, Brett Kulak, Tyler Wotherspoon, Garnet Hathaway, David Rittich, and Jon Gillies. Only one of those guys should make seven figures next year, so the team has plenty of flexibility, perhaps leaving the possibility that they add another piece.
