That’s right, we’re talking Victor Bobrov, Yegor Shastin, Yuri Trubachev, and Ruslan Zainullin, who all remain on the Flames’ reserve list despite all being drafted prior to 2003. Still some potential, you never know.

Speak of the devil.
Stockton’s season began with two wins, but Dube was held off the scoresheet both times despite seeing top line minutes. He only recorded three shots over the weekend, so a call up may take a few weeks.
Lucas Feuk- LW, Södertälje SK, Superelit/Allsvenskan

Feuk continues to bounce between Södertälje’s senior and junior team. He’s played in every game on the senior team which is a very good sign, though he in a fourth line role. He makes appearances for the juniors between senior games, where he has been a consistent scorer on a pretty lousy squad.
Glenn Gawdin- RW, Stockton Heat

Gawdin picked up an assist this weekend and four shots this weekend. He’s currently centering the Stockton top line with Dube and Matthew Phillips.

The surprise prospect of the week is Kirkland, who is currently tied for the Stockton lead in scoring (with Zac Rinaldo) despite being listed on the fourth line. The actual Flames kids didn’t do much scoring this week, so prepare for some more weirdness like this.

Koumontzis and Arizona began the year against Monmouth, picking up a win and a loss. The Sun Devils top line left winger was held pointless in the first game, but picked up a powerplay goal and two helpers in the second game. Here’s one of the assists (Koumontzis is #23):

Just a goal this week for Lerby, who continues to hold down the first pairing spot with former Flames prospect Adam Ollas Mattsson. He’s currently tied for fourth in team scoring.
Linus Lindstrom- C/LW, Skelleftea AIK, SHL
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe

Lindstrom tied his SHL career best by scoring his third goal this season, another shorthanded effort. So far, he has held onto the second line role for Skelleftea, which is good news considering that the team only gave him about four games in that spot last season.
Ryan Lomberg- LW, Stockton Heat
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe

An assist for Lomberg on a shorthanded goal by Buddy Robinson. He’s been a very effective PKer for the Heat during his career, so expect a bit more of that from him this season.

Also, Lomberg was given an A for this season.
Jeremy McKenna- RW, Moncton Wildcats
A quick note on Jeremy McKenna: he’s been released from his AHL contract and has rejoined his junior team. It was nice knowing him.
Andrew Nielsen- D, Stockton Heat

Nothing doing for Nielsen this week. He’s currently playing on the second pairing on his off side.
Ilya Nikolayev- C, Loko, MHL

Nikolayev continues to thrive as Loko’s first line centre. Although he’s currently third in team scoring behind his wingers, he’s not getting the same offensive opportunities, being tested on the PK more than the PP.
Jakob Pelletier- LW, Moncton Wildcats, QMJHL
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe

A quieter week for the Flames first round pick, who struggled in his first two games this weekend. He rebounded in the final game of a back-to-back-to-back, picking up two assists on two goals and being named the first star of the game. His longest scoring drought last year lasted all of two games, so this could be the only bad part of his season.
Also of note: Pelletier is playing on the right wing for the Wildcats.
Mathias Emilio Pettersen- C/LW, Denver Pioneers, NCAA (NCHC)

Denver took a trip way up north to play Alaska-Fairbanks in their first series of the year. Pettersen set up the game winner in the first game, but was extremely quiet in game two.
Matthew Phillips- RW, Stockton Heat

No points for Pospisil in his pro debut, though he did pick up two penalties, so he is caught up in that department.

Roman has been the king of Vancouver’s power play thus far, scoring four goals on the man advantage. Although the numbers don’t jump off the page at you, he is second in Giants scoring (they’ve usually been a quieter WHL team), and leads the team in goals scored.
Adam Ruzicka- C, Stockton Heat

Still not going well for Sveningsson in the SHL, where he has yet to pick up a point, though he is starting to see more ice time. Oskarshamn lost 12-0 this weekend, so expect more pain in the future.
Eetu Tuulola- RW, Stockton Heat

We saved the best for last (well, the alphabet did). Spared from an ECHL demotion due to injury, Zagidulin made a pretty solid case to show that he belongs in the AHL starter conversation. He stopped 28 of 30 (0.933 SV%) in his debut and followed it up with 32 of 34 (0.941SV%) in his next game. He’ll probably tell Gillies and Parsons to take it easy.
