The Calgary Flames will be looking to put the brakes on a two-game slide as they return home to take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night as -150 favourites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Calgary’s offence sputtered during last week’s road trip, with the team mustering just six goals over its past three games ahead of Tuesday’s matchup at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Flyers at Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Flames fell to defeat in their past two outings despite outshooting opponents in each of those contests. The team dropped a 3-1 decision in San Jose as +110 underdogs on Sunday while outshooting the Sharks by a wide 33-20 margin, and also outshot the Golden Knights 35-30 while suffering a lopsided 6-2 loss in Vegas as a +135 underdogs a night earlier.
Calgary’s offensive struggles extend a trend that dates back to last season, with the team scoring more than three goals just once while averaging just 2.15 goals per game over their past 13 outings. Not surprisingly, wins have also been rare during that stretch, with the Flames picking up victories in just three of 13 contests since the beginning of April.
The Flames, though, have enjoyed steady success against Philadelphia over the past five seasons, posting wins in seven of their past 10 meetings according to the OddsShark NHL Database. That run includes a 4-1-0 record over five meetings on home ice, capped by a narrow 6-5 victory when the Flyers last came to town, back in mid-December.
The Flyers arrive in Calgary listed as +125 underdogs at sports betting sites after falling 3-2 to Vancouver in a shootout as a -105 wager on Saturday night. Despite the loss, Philadelphia netminder Carter Hart has impressed in the early going, compiling a .938 save percentage to go along with a 1.62 goals-against average in three outings for Philadelphia this season. For Tuesday, though, Hart is expected to cede the netminding duties to backup Brian Elliott.
Philadelphia has struggled on the road in its most recent matchups against Pacific Division opponents, losing five of six while allowing four goals per game heading into Tuesday night.
However, Philadelphia has played stingy defense while earning at least a point in each of its three outings so far this season. The team has surrendered just six total goals to date, and has outshot opponents in each of their first three games, holding opponents to a league-best 26.7 shots on goal per game.
