A former Calgary Flame reached 1,000 games played recently.
In the Los Angeles Kings’ 2-1 defeat over the Tampa Bay Lightning, Trevor Lewis played his 1,000 game of his career, the 401st player in league history to reach that mark according to NHL records.
The 37-year-old right-shot centre was selected 17th overall in the 2006 draft by the Kings and has gone on to have a lengthy career with the Kings, Winnipeg Jets, and Flames. Overall, he has 101 goals and 232 points in those 1,000 games, with a career-high of 14 goals and 26 points in 68 games with the Kings in 2017-18.
Lewis was also on the Kings when they won their two Stanley Cups, one in 2012 where he scored three goals and nine points in 20 post-season games, and one in 2014 when he scored four goals and five points in 26 games.
His final season with the Kings in his first stint was in 2019-20, signing with the Jets for the 2020-21 season. Overall, he scored five goals and 10 points in 56 games, before the Jets fell in the second round to the Montréal Canadiens.
The following off-season, Lewis signed a one-year deal with the Flames to play under his former head coach, Darryl Sutter. In his first season, he scored six goals and 16 points in 80 games, along with two goals and five points in 12 post-season games as the Flames finished first in the Pacific Division.

Lewis re-signed with the Flames for the 2022-23 season, where he scored nine goals and 20 points in 82 games. The 2022-23 season was the second time in Lewis’ career he played a full 82-game season. However, the Flames missed the post-season and Lewis returned to the Kings for his second stint.
Last season, he scored eight goals and 16 points in 82 games but was held pointless in the five post-season games that the Kings played. So far this season, Lewis has three goals and seven points in 26 games with the Kings, as they currently occupy second place in the Pacific Division.
